If you missed DANNY BOY on the TV this week make sure you catch it on iPlayer! The film, brilliantly designed by echo Production Designer Malin Lindholm and Directed by Sam Miller, is based on the true story of soldier Brian Wood who was accused of war crimes in Iraq by the human rights lawyer Phil Shiner, played by Toby Jones.

YOUNG WALLANDER is released on Netflix today! The show, a prequel to the original BBC series, follows Kurt Wallander on his first police case. The 6 parter was directed by Ole Endresen and Jens Jonsson and features production design by Malin Lindholm
"DEEP WATER" ON ITV TONIGHT AT 9PM!
New series DEEP WATER airs tonight on ITV at 9pm! Directed by Harry Wootliff and Jim Loach, the 6 part series was designed by echo’s Production Designer Malin Lindholm and episodes 1 + 2 were cut by echo’s Editor Sarah Brewerton. The emotional thriller stars Anna Friel, Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar and is set against the beautiful backdrop of the Lake District.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE ENTRIES AT THE OSCARS
WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY has been submitted as Norway’s representative at the 91st Academy Awards. Deeply moving and stunningly shot by echo’s Nadim Carlsen this movie takes the audience onto an emotional roller coaster. Ali Abbasi’s BORDER, which was also shot by Nadim Carlsen is the Norwegian entry and Ciro Guerra and Cristina Gallego’s BIRDS OF PASSAGE, lensed by David Gallego, ADFC is the Columbian entry. We are also very proud to say that I AM NOT A WITCH has been submitted as this year’s UK entry, also shot by David Gallego, ADFC, with Costume Design by Holly Rebecca and Art Direction by Malin Lindholm. THE SHOOT ON NEW SERIES "DEEP WATER" BEGINS!
Production Designer, Malin Lindholm and Editor, Sarah Brewerton have begun the shoot on new series DEEP WATER for Kudos and ITV. Harry Wootliff, who has her directorial debut, ONLY YOU in London Film Festival this year (starring Josh O’Connor and Laia Costa) will direct the opening block of the six part series. The emotional thriller follows the lives of three complex and vibrant women played by Anna Friel (pictured here in MARCELLA), Sinead Keenan and Rosalind Eleazar and is set against the beautiful and imposing backdrop of the Lake District.
SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL STARTS TODAY!
The Sundance Film Festival starts today with a few additional ECHO appearances! Jonas Åkerlund's LORDS OF CHAOS follows the dark and twisted beginnings of Oslo's Black Metal movement, showing in the "Midnight" programme with costumes designed by Susie Coulthard and hair and make-up designed by Loz Schiavo. Meanwhile Yannis Chalkiadakis, a new client to ECHO edited the feature PITY which is nominated for the Grand Jury Prize. MR INBETWEEN, directed by Nash Edgerton and lensed by Director of Photography Christopher Miles will also see it's world premiere. This is in addition to, the BAFTA nominated I AM NOT A WITCH, with art direction from Malin Lindholm, lensed by David Gallego and costumed by Holly Rebecca, along with the US premiere of Michael Pearce's BEAST, with production design by Laura Ellis Cricks, OPHELIA, starring Naomi Watts and Tom Felton will have it's world premiere, directed by Claire McCarthy and edited by Luke Dunkley. Luke also co-edited Bart Layton's AMERICAN ANIMALS, screening in the "US Dramatic Competition".
BAFTA NOMINATIONS OUT!
Echo congratulates Costume Designer Holly Rebecca, Director of Photography David Gallego, ADFC and Art Director Malin Lindholm for their work on I AM NOT A WITCH as well as Costume Designer Guy Speranza for JAWBONE and Consulting Editor Jinx Godfrey on KINGDOM OF US, all nominated for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. GOD'S OWN COUNTRY has also been nominated for Outstanding British Film, with hair and make-up design by Bean Ellis, PADDINGTON 2, edited by Mark Everson, has been nominated for both Best Adapted Screenplay and Outstanding British Film and AAMIR, co-edited by Matteo Bini has been nominated for Best British Short Film. The 2018 BAFTA Ceremony takes place on February 18th.

Luke has also co-edited Bart Layton's art heist story, AMERICAN ANIMALS, which will screen in the "US Dramatic Competition". Rungano Nyoni's acclaimed I AM NOT A WITCH, lensed by David Gallego with art direction by Malin Lindholm and costumes by Holly Rebecca, will screen in the "Spotlight" programme, along with director Michael Pearce's debut feature BEAST about a murder accusation in a small British island community, with production design helmed by Laura Ellis Cricks.
