"TRUST" IS OUT TODAY IN THE US!

Directed by Danny Boyle, Susanna White, Jonathan Van Tulleken, Dawn Shadforth and Emanuele Crialese, the new FX Productions + Cloud Eight Films drama, TRUST is out today in the US.  The ten part series is set in 1973 and centres on the abduction in Italy of John Paul Getty III, then-heir to Getty Oil.  Written by Simon Beaufoy and exec produced by Danny Boyle, Morten Højbjerg cuts episode 9 + 10 of the season, directed by Susanna White.

NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED FOR THE BAFTA CRAFT AWARDS!

Congratulations go to echo Costume Designer Jane Petrie, Editor Dan Roberts and Hair + Make-Up Designer Loz Schiavo for their BAFTA Craft Nominations announced today! THE CROWN secured six nominations in total including the nomination for Jane Petrie and her wonderful costumes whilst PEAKY BLINDERS secured four nominations including the nominations for both Dan Roberts and Loz Schiavo. The BAFTA Craft Awards take place on 22nd April 2018. Congrats!

"CURFEW" BEGINS!

Director of Photography Carlos Catalan and Editor Sarah Brewerton have started on CURFEW, the new 8 part original drama from Sky starring Adrian Lester, Sean Bean, Malachi Kirby and Phoebe Fox. Created by Matthew Read and produced by Endemol Shine’s Tiger Aspect, alongside Moonage, the hi-octane UK original is set in the world of street racing.  The car racers will compete in customised and weaponised vehicles as they race across Britain in an attempt to escape the control of a totalitarian government.  Both Carlos and Sarah are working on episode 5 for director Chris Smith and Sarah is currently cutting episode 2 directed by Colm McCarthy.

SHOOTING STARTS ON "JUDY"

Shooting has started on two-time Olivier winner Rupert Goold's new drama JUDY with production design by Kave Quinn.  Produced by Pathé and David Livingstone at Calamity Films, the film follows legendary performer Judy Garland when she arrives in London in 1968 to perform a series of sold-out concerts.   The star studded cast includes Renée Zellweger as Judy and here is a first look!

WATCH "THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING" TONIGHT ON ITV 3

You can catch the multi-award winning movie, THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING on ITV 3 tonight at 10pm edited by long time collaborator Jinx Godfrey, along with echo's new editor client, Mark Keady who was Associate Editor on the film. The story takes a look at the relationship between the famous physicist, the late Stephen Hawking (played by Eddie Redmayne) and his wife (Felicity Jones).  Produced by Working Title and directed by James Marsh, the film won three BAFTAS as well as being nominated for many more including Best Editing alongside an Academy Award for Eddie Redmayne's performance as well as many other Academy Award nominations.

MAINELAND IS RELEASED TODAY IN THE US!

The Documentary, MAINELAND, directed by Miao Wang comes out in the US today. It follows the enormous wave of "parachute students" from Mainland China enrolling in U.S. private schools. Shot over three years in China and the U.S., MAINELAND tells a multi-layered coming-of-age tale. Its is shot by Sean Price Williams and produced by Three Waters Productions.

"7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE" IS OUT IN US CINEMAS TODAY!

José Padilha's 7 DAYS IN ENTEBBE will be released in the USA today, with Production Design by Kave Quinn. Produced by Participant Media and Working Title Films, the film is inspired by the true events of the 1976 hijacking of an Air France flight en route from Tel Aviv to Paris. The cast includes Rosamund Pike and Daniel Brühl and was in competition at Berlin Film Festival this year.  The film is released in the UK on May 11th.

"THOROUGHBREDS" RELEASED IN US CINEMAS TODAY

Cory Finley's THOROUGHBREDS with Costume Design by Alex Bovaird and produced by B Story and Focus Features is out today.  The film starring the late Anton Yelchin, tells the story of two upper-class teenage girls played Anya Taylor Joy and Olivia Cooke in suburban Connecticut who hatch a plan to solve both of their problems - no matter what the cost... 

TBT - CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL WOMAN'S DAY: "SUFFRAGETTE"

Today's throwback is to Jane Petrie's wonderful Costume Design on SUFFRAGETTE, showing on Film4 tonight at 9pm in aid of International Woman's Day.  Released back in 2015, the award-winning movie, directed by Sarah Gavron and starring Carey Mulligan, tells the story of the Suffragette movement and how it led to women in the UK finally having the right to vote. 

IT'S INTERNATIONAL WOMAN'S DAY!  NEW VODAFONE ADVERT RELEASED

The issues surrounding gender equality are reduced to a series of questions posed by children in the new Vodafone advert RAISING VOICES released today.  Michelle May was the Costume Designer and the humorous yet provocative spot was directed by Hanna Maria Heidrich.

ALASTAIR REID CUTS "THE CRY"

Produced by Synchronicity films and directed by Glendyn Ivin, Echo's new editor client, Alastair Reid has started work on THE CRY. The four part thriller for BBC One, set in Australia and starring Jenna Coleman, tells the harrowing story of a young couple as they deal with the unthinkable tragedy of their baby going missing. 

GOOD LUCK FOR PHANTOM THREAD AT THE OSCARS TONIGHT!

The 90th Annual Academy Awards will be held tonight in LA and echo would like to wish the very best of luck to PHANTOM THREAD featuring Hair Design by Jon Henry Gordon.  The film has been nominated for six awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Paul Thomas Anderson and a Best Actor nod for Daniel Day Lewis. "BEAST" OFFICIAL TRAILER - FIRST LOOK!

The official trailer for the hotly anticipated BEAST is out today. Directed by Michael Pearce and with Production Design by Laura Ellis Cricks, it was a festival favourite after being in the Official Selection at Sundance, TIFF and LFF. Starring Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn you can catch it at cinemas in the UK on April 27th. 

"DARK RIVER" IS RELEASED IN UK CINEMAS TODAY!

Directed by Clio Barnard and co-edited by Luke Dunkley, the critically acclaimed film, DARK RIVER is officially out in UK cinemas today.  The film, produced by Moonspun Films, BFI and Film4 stars Ruth Wilson, Mark Stanley and Sean Bean to tell the story of a woman returning to her family farm to claim what she believes to be rightfully hers, despite being followed by her haunting past.

SACHA SZWARC FINISHES EDITING "FIRST LOVE"

Sacha Szwarc has finished editing the new short form series FIRST LOVE. Produced by Blackpills and Directed by commercial duo Truman + Cooper, the series is made up of ten short episodes shot in LA. Blackpills partnered with Vice last year with the manifesto of creating compelling digital content, telling gripping stories to a young adult audience. We're looking forward to seeing the final cut of FIRST LOVE! 

YANNIS CHALKIADAKIS EDITS "ALL THIS VICTORY"

Yannis Chalkiadakis is cutting ALL THIS VICTORY by first time feature director Ahmad Ghossein. Produced by Ab(b)out Productions, the dark comedy is set in Lebanon and follows five people trapped in a basement in the last days of the July War.  As the days wear on, the tensions rise and the situation spirals out of control...

JANE PETRIE WINS CDG AWARD FOR SEASON TWO OF THE CROWN!

The annual Costume Designer Guild Awards were held last night in LA and echo is very pleased to announce Jane Petrie won the Excellence in Period Television category for her wonderful work on THE CROWN Season 2. Go Jane - We're very proud!

I AM NOT A WITCH WINS A BAFTA!

A huge congratulations to Costume Designer Holly Rebecca, Director of Photography David Gallego, ADFC and Art Director Malin Lindholm for their work on  I AM NOT A WITCH which won a BAFTA last night for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer!
